Design
First Generation (M100/M150; 1998-2005)
- The first-gen Matiz was characterized by its compact dimensions and friendly, rounded design cues. It featured large, bug-eyed headlights and a smiling front grille, offering a youthful and cheerful appearance.
- Its tall and narrow design, with relatively short overhangs, maximized interior space and made it perfect for crowded city streets.
Second Generation (M200; 2005-2009)
- This generation saw a more modern redesign, with the bug-eyed headlights evolving into more conventional shapes. The car’s silhouette became sleeker while retaining the tall-body design for interior space.
- The interior was also revamped with a more modern dashboard and better ergonomics.
Third Generation (M300; 2009-2015)
- A radical departure from the previous designs, the third-gen Matiz (primarily known as Chevrolet Spark) became more aggressive and sportier. The design language was in line with Chevrolet’s global design cues, with split grille and sharper headlights.
- The interior quality and design saw a significant uplift with modern infotainment options and a more refined finish.
