Design
First Generation (2002-2009)
- The initial Sorento featured a traditional SUV design with a body-on-frame construction. Its appearance was rugged with angular lines, a tall stance, and a distinctly vertical rear end.
Second Generation (2009-2014)
- The second-gen Sorento underwent a major redesign, moving to a unibody construction which positioned it more as a crossover than a traditional SUV. This shift brought about smoother, more modern aesthetics with a sleeker profile, wrap-around headlights, and a more refined front grille.
Third Generation (2014-2020)
- This generation maintained the crossover look but introduced sharper, more sculpted design elements. The front grille became more prominent, headlights were more angular, and the body incorporated more character lines.
Fourth Generation (2020-Present as of last update)
- The latest Sorento has a more assertive design, with a bolder front end characterized by a larger tiger-nose grille and distinctive LED headlights. Its side profile is more chiseled, and the rear lights are vertically oriented.
