TGCL’s main business is the sale of new Toyota vehicles and spare parts, and the provision of support for after-sales services.

As Toyota Motor Corporation’s sole authorized distributor, TGCL employees are equipped with the required skills to improve the quality of service to comply with Toyota Global Standards. In 2013, the company became HINO Trucks’ sole authorized distributor, selling HINO trucks and offering its customers with after-sales support.

TGCL has branches in – Accra, Tema, Kumasi and Tarkwa. In addition, TGCL has appointed five (5) workshops thus; Ansuare Company Limited in Tamale, Kwansa Auto Ltd in Takoradi, Gerco Auto Ventures in Ho, Cape Coast Technical Institute in Cape Coast and Eusbett Service Centre in Sunyani as authorized Service Shops (TGASS).

After Sales Service

Toyota Ghana Company Limited (TGCL) currently has four General Service workshops. In addition, the company has appointed five authorized service shops at various locations across the country to ensure that it brings its services much closer to its esteemed customers. The company is however, not relenting on its efforts since it is in the process of developing even more service outlets.

Toyota service is aimed at providing quality service to ensure the best condition of your vehicle at all times.

Its aim is not only to offer better repair quality, but also, better performance in appearance, facilities, equipment and handling its esteemed customers in a way to earn their trust.

TGCL categorizes its servicing into three main types (Express Maintenance, Express Repairs and Heavy Repairs), aimed at offering a wide variety of services tailored to meet the customer’s needs.


The EM Program aims to improve customer convenience by drastically reducing the service lead-time of periodic maintenance and guaranteeing the promised delivery time. The lead time is the time the vehicle is received to the completion time and it takes 60 minutes for the entire process to be carried out. This means customers can wait and pick up their vehicles right after the service.

Toyota Ghana requires its cherished customers to service their vehicles at the first 5,000km and every five thousand kilometres interval or three months from the last service date, whichever comes first. Customers are therefore encouraged to be at the service centre at least 15mins before the appointed time.

Spare Parts

Having the safety of its cherished customers as its focus, Toyota Ghana, in conjunction with Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) in Japan have taken it upon itself to continuously educate all Toyota customers on the dangers associated with the use of counterfeit parts sold on the open market by employing several educational campaign activities.

It is the company’s vision to continue improving on its parts operations to support the Aftersales section in order to provide its cherished customers with the best customer service experience in the country.

Questions and Answers

Que: Where does TGCL import its spare parts from?

Ans: TGCL imports its spare parts from Japan and South Africa.

Que: Why do you have made in China on some of your parts?

Ans: Toyota Motor Corporation has established plants in some selected countries across the globe to produce different spare parts and one of such countries is China.

Que: Why does TGCL not stock parts for all Toyota made vehicles e.g. Lexus, Highlander and other Toyota vehicles particularly from the US?

Ans: Toyota manufactures vehicles for specific territories. TGCL stocks spare parts for its assigned model lines, however we are able to supply or order spare parts for vehicles which do not fall within our model lines as and when required.

Que: Why do ordered parts take 3 to 4 months to deliver?

Ans: Spare parts are imported through two major means; air and sea order. The air orders arrive within three to four weeks after confirmed order, while the sea orders arrive within three to four months. Customer therefore has a choice between the two routes at the time of confirmation. We are however making efforts to improve our stock line items.

Que: Why is it that most parts are not readily available?

Ans: TGCL has most parts readily available for our model lines. Service rate is currently 97.5% nationwide.

Que: Why can’t inter branch parts request be delivered within a day?

Ans: Thus, inter branch requests can be delivered within a day depending on the location of the requesting branch.

Que: Why are Toyota parts so expensive?

Ans: Toyota parts are competitively priced. The quality, durability and reliability offered, actually saves our customers a lot of cost due to the fact that genuine parts last longer.

Que: Why does TGCL always insist on vehicle identification codes from even regular customers before providing information parts availability?

Ans: Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is important to select the correct unique part number for your Toyota vehicle anywhere in the world.

Que: Why don’t you have a workshop and a parts department in the Northern and Eastern parts of the country?

Ans: In the Northern Region, we have an Authorized Service Shop Ansuare Company Limited that has been trained, certified and equipped to handle the after sales needs (servicing & provision of genuine parts) to all users of Toyota vehicles in the three Northern Regions. TGCL actually has plans to expand the service network to all Regions in Ghana. This is part of our efforts to provide reliable after sales support to all our customers nationwide.

Que: Why don’t you have a data base of previous transaction of walk-in-customers?

Ans: TGCL operates a Data Management system (DMS) that captures transaction of all customers and can be retrieved within a specified period.
