New and used Mercedes Benz GLE Class price in Ghana

The Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class 350 was actually born from the M-Class, which was the original midsize luxury SUV from the brand. It made its debut back in 1997. In 2015, Mercedes-Benz decided to rename the M-Class as the GLE-Class 4matic as part of their strategy to better show its connection to the E-Class. The abbreviation “GL” is used to represent the SUVs in the lineup, while the letter “E” indicates that the model is related to the E-Class segment.

Design

M-Class (W163, W164, W166; 1997-2015)

  • As the predecessor to the GLE, the M-Class had a more traditional, boxy SUV design, especially in its first and second generations. The third generation (W166) began adopting a more modern and aerodynamic appearance.

First Generation GLE (W166; 2015-2019)

  • This is essentially a facelifted and renamed version of the third-generation M-Class. It inherited its design but with updated front and rear fascias, new lighting, and modernized interiors.
  • A “Coupe” version was introduced, presenting an SUV with a sloping rear roofline for a sportier appeal.

Second Generation GLE (W167; 2019-present as of my last update)

  • A complete redesign with a more modern exterior. It carries a bolder front fascia, sharper lines, and advanced LED lighting.
  • The interior sees a major overhaul with the dual-screen MBUX infotainment system, higher-grade materials, and a more contemporary layout.
